YOUNIQ is generating EUR 36.6 million of gross sales proceeds from this transaction, which are to be invested directly in the further expansion of its core "Student Housing" business. The cooperation between YOUNIQ AG and the MPC Capital AG issuing house was the subject of an agreement concluded in July 2011. The first fund that the two companies have launched reports a volume of around EUR 63 million. MPC Capital is responsible for the structuring and marketing of the funds as part of the cooperation, while YOUNIQ handles the project management, construction and management of the high-quality student apartments. From April 2012, a total of 236 student apartments are to be created in Bayreuth, and a total of 187 in Lübeck, entailing a rentable space of around 9,100 m². The 5,800 m² (Bayreuth) and 5,200 m² (Lübeck) land plots are both located directly next to university campuses. YOUNIQ AG is investing around EUR 28 million into the new projects. The company anticipates that the construction and subsequent rentals will be completed by the 2013/14 winter semester. Both projects are to be recognised in profit or loss statement of the fiscal year 2011. The project is due to be completed and rented prospectively by 2013. The apartments, which comprise 20 m² on average, are fully furnished, and are to be rented on an all-inclusive basis, in other words, including all incidental costs such as Internet and cable connection. Along with its favourable location, the site also stands out due to its direct street tram link to the city centre.
